At long last my child speaks

家長心聲My child, Hao Hao, was diagnosed with "autism" by a government health centre when he was two and a half years old. His symptoms included: slow speech development, being unable to speak even simple words like good morning, mom and dad. He only loved to play alone, and never played with his brother at home or made eye contact with others.

In January 2015, through a friend's introduction, I came across the Positive Life Association, and arranged for Hao Hao to attend the Association's "Growth Classroom". There, he received three hours of professional training every day, and Dr. Jane Nam first discovered his "strengths, merits and potentials", revealing that in fact he has a strong memory, he is particularly fond of colours, and his hands (small muscles) and eye coordination are also very good!

Later, Dr. Jane Nam designed appropriate training courses for Hao Hao. I was pleasantly surprised that his situation quickly improved!

* In mid-January, after about two weeks of training, he could already say "mom" and "dad"!

* In early February, he started to play with his brother, and even scrambled with the latter for toys!

* In mid-March, he was already able to sing nursery rhymes by himself or with others; he could also express his needs by speaking and could talk with others; his ability to speak had almost caught up with that of his peers. Hao Hao's attention span had also improved. He had eye contact with others, and his muscle coordination was up to par.

* By early April, I knew that the symptoms of Hao Hao's so-called "autism" had disappeared, so my husband and I arranged for him to return to a regular kindergarten.

Here, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Jane Nam and her team of teachers for their help to make Hao Hao "recover"!

Greetings from Hao Hao's mother
